Another trip abroad!

Hey Guys,

It’s been another tough but enjoyable week of training, we were all hoping to finish with a game against Liverpool on Sunday but yet again the weather  put paid to that! Training consisted of fitness, ball work and the world’s strongest women again on Friday. We have had two girls over on trial, Katie from America and Erica from Canada, they seem really nice and have fitted straight in. I am sure they have questioned what they are doing here after their first session on Thursday night the temperatures dropped into the minuses and we did a nice fitness session just to ease them into it. Friday was a different matter the girls found themselves tossing tyres, running with sand bags and lunging with dumbbells, before taking part in football, jelly legs were an understatement. I think Glen wanted to really show them on Sunday by doing an evil speed endurance session. Thankfully the girls didn’t get the next flight home but this may change when Rach, Remi, Lucy and Bonnie take them for a night out on the town…more to follow next week!!

I have to say I think the world of men’s football has gone mad, the amount of money clubs are bidding for players is just unbelievable, is Torres really worth 50 million pounds? come to think of it is any player worth this!? He has underperformed this season, probably due to his heart not being at Liverpool or the fact he has had some niggly injuries but who is to say that this will not happen at Chelsea. I am only jealous as my club Everton can’t afford to buy anyone, we sold my favourite player Stephen Piennar for a measly 3million pounds a few weeks ago. I did however go to watch them in the cup against Chelsea on Saturday, we played well and probably deserved to win but that’s football eh!!

We are all getting ready for our trip to Majorca, don’t be too jealous we will be training twice a day but hopefully that will be in the bright sunshine so we can at least get our knees tanned!! My roomy is Kay Hawke so I am sure I will have lots of laughs, I just hope no one tells her I put her down as worst trainer  in our club questionnaire ( she did go home one night from training because it was too cold). It’s just a shame two of our players can’t come Lea who is a committed teacher (she told me to put that) so can’t get time off work and Mel who has university work to do. However we are trying to organize a team day to Skegness where everyone can attend, if we can’t play football we will all be best mates at least!!
