Sue is now a Lady Imp

It was one of the toughest football decisions I have ever had to make, playing for Leeds for eight years was an honour and I enjoyed the entire time I spent there, having played with some fantastic players and been coached by some of the best coaches in the country, the highlight was definitely winning the league cup final last year.

When the university announced that they wouldn’t be supporting us in the forthcoming super league we were all distraught, we had built up a good team with a huge potential to do well the new professional league.

I had to make the decision to leave Leeds so that I could play in the top flight of football and this would inevitably aid my England career. After the season had finished I went on holiday to relax before meeting with other clubs, everyone I met with were very professional and showed great ambition in their views for their clubs, this again made my decision even harder!

After weeks of discussing my future with my friends and family I made my decision to play for Lincoln, I was very impressed at how professional they were and the opportunities they offered me both on and off the field. They are not a big name in women’s football at the minute but we hope to change this status. I see this as a new chapter in my football career and a great challenge, the only down side is the season doesn’t start for another seven months.
