Pom poms a the ready

Sue spent a very enjoyable afternoon with the Bury FC Cheerleading squad last weekend.

The girls are aged from 12- 17 and come from all over the borough. They represent 8 schools and colleges between them and rehearse once  a week at the New Kershaw Centre in Bury. They are coached by Liz Norris.

Liz works for Bury Youth Service, as Bury East’s Area youth worker . Part of this role includes promoting positive activities for young people to participate in.

Even though Sue was injured and was unable to take part fully she grateful to learn some new dance moves “I really had a fun day with all the Cheerleading team, this is something I may have to  take up after my playing days are over” she said with a big smile.
