Chelsea Ladies 2-0 Leeds Carnegie Ladies
Leeds fell to a third defeat in four games, as their hopes of a Champions League spot took a dent with a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea Ladies.
Both goals came in the first half, as an out-of-sorts Leeds side struggled to contain a Chelsea side which had improved markedly since the League Cup semi final in December.
Claire Rafferty opened the scoring in the 26th minute when she was allowed space in the Leeds box to head home a Casey Stoney cross, while the second came deep into first half stoppage time, a defensive error allowing Ann-Marie Heatherson time to compose herself and fire past keeper Carly Telford.
Leeds manager Rick Passmoor made two changes at the start of the second half, replacing Jade Moore and Mel Sucliffe with Rachel Daly and Nat Staneff, but the damage had been done, meaning Leeds have dropped from first to fourth in a week.
Leeds have no time to dwell on their misfortune, however, as they have another two games on the road, against Blackburn Rovers Ladies on Wednesday night and Watford Ladies next Sunday.
