Blackburn Rovers Ladies 0-2 Leeds Carnegie Ladies

Leeds steadied the nerves of fans and staff alike as they made it a hat-trick of wins against Blackburn Rovers Ladies this season.

Manager Rick Passmoor decided to ring the changes, dropping leading goalscorer Ellen Whiteto the bench, together with Mel Sutcliffe and Club Captain Jade Moore.

After a bright start, with competitive end to end action, it was Leeds who made the breakthrough; Blackburn failed to clear the ball, allowing Steph Houghton to fire home from 20 yards past a stranded Danielle Hill.

Jess Clarke made the points safe at the start of the second half as she waltzed past the attentions of Blackburn’s defenders to fire the ball low to Hill’s right-hand side.

Next up for Leeds is the trip to Watford on Sunday 2 May, followed by the visit of Everton on the 6th and that first-ever visit to the Emirates Stadium on the 12th.
