While we were on the pitch Beckham was warming up to go on and he stood clapping us as we walked past. He then come over to get in some pictures, before he could even smile the under 19s mobbed him, as senior players we just stood to the side as it isn’t very professional to do this and you guessed it that was the only thing that ITV showed on the TV. Nothing was mentioned about the successes of the two teams, which I found quite disappointing. Some of the London based girls stayed and went into the players lounge after the game and they said the men were very charming and positive about us. Unfortunately we had to get back, we had a game the next day against Blackburn.

So moving on to Leeds Carnegie Ladies, we had three tough games in a week, Birmingham, Blackburn and Nottingham Forrest. We knew if we played well we were capable of winning all three and that’s exactly what we did. So we are now top of the league. We have played more games than the likes of Everton and Arsenal however it’s still nice to be top at this moment in time and as the song says, “we shall not be moved!!” We have nearly caused our manager Rick to have a heart attack; we like to make things exciting. We play like Brazil first half and then the dog and duck second half. We managed to turn this around on Sunday and we convincingly beat Nottingham Forrest 5-0, this was our most professional game of the season, so lets hope we can continue with this for the sake of Rick’s heart!!!
